Sorry I only have 1.5" stuff.
Threaded or slip depends on your application. Slip with glue is pretty much a sure thing in many instances without having to worry about a leak.

Lowes and home Depot should have them. In reality you don't need schedule 80 for anything we do. Schedule 40 for your return plumbing is more than enough. I use drainage pipe for my overflows. It has the thin walls so you get a little bigger diameter.

Slip is the best inho, but if you ever want to redo pkumbing, you are buying fittings again. For the best flexibility of future needs, I get threaded and run silicon in the threads instead of tape. The silicon makes a form fitting gasket, for lack of a better term. It does not adhere either. So, if you want to make a change, break out your channel locks and take your pipe apart. Peel the silicon off and redo your plumbing how you want it. Steveb has a thing on how to use a heat gun to take slip fittings down to a usable form, but that looks way more difficult.

I was doing my plumbing to look like BRS did on their tank. But right now I will do the hoses temporarily. Actually part hoses and part pvc. Just got my tank yesterday so plumbing won't start till the weekend.

I could always spray paint the schedule 40 fittings gray since they are less expensive then the schedule 80 fittings. I am also thinking about painting the back of the tank black but I will have to use a roller to paint it because it is on the stand.
