Does anyone have any diamox they are willing to pet with? I have a seahorse that has internal gas disease and need it fast!

I have. And every vet I have called says they don't prescribe for pets they don't see. And they won't see a seahorse. Going in circle.

Try contacting a vet that sees birds. ABC Animal and Bird, Southeast Animal and Bird...

Are you sure that's the med you need? Don't you need an antibiotic? There are lots of common ones available without script for fish.

If you can't find int if try this. You can get this at any pharmacy and it's gentle. I'd try opening the pouch to let out bubbles and let some of this water in too.

BETADINE Dosage and Preparation Instructions for Topical Application
Active Ingredient: Povodine Iodine
Indication: open external lesions
• Mix 1 part Betadine solution to 5 parts saltwater marine water .
• If the lesion is on the body, hold the head underwater in a separate bowl of tank water. Drip the solution
onto the lesion rather than applying it with a cotton swab which could spread or aggravate the infection. A
syringe filled with the solution would allow for ease and additional control over its the solutions
application. Let dry momentarily and then return the seahorse to its tank.
Apply twice a per day .

My logic here is that either are accidentally got trapped in in which case you just need to let it out, this is happened to me and it did not reoccur, or possibly a bacteria or something else is inside the pouch causing air bubbles. This type of dip should kill anything if it's in there and not hurt the seahorse. Good luck I will be watching this thread

Nevermind, I just saw the way they dosed lol. Scratch that. Seahorse.org forum is where I get info from.

Try just letting the bubbles out. If it comes back then I can try to help you. I'm out of town or I have a few antibiotics. Again I'll watch the thread

Thanks for the response guys. Unfortunately in this case it is not his pouch. His chest area is where the issue lies. Seahorsesource is where I got them so I reached out to them and they said also Diamox will help fix him temporarily but also to use furan 2 which is what I'm trying. Only one vet so far said they could help at all and that is the exotic vet off the loop/galleria. Only problem is that's at least a 3-4 hour trip and I feel like the ride may stress him out even more. Hopefully the trick the guy told me will work, but he also said if it is something like a bladder infection then most likely he's a goner. He's in a nursing tank and I have live brine shrimp to hopefully get him to eat. Only time will tell.

You can gut load food for internal infection. Also get an account with the site I listed for a lot of good info on antibiotics. They aren't as active, but all the info is still there. Btw what part of town are you located in? I'll try to help your find a vet.
