Hmm I wonder if they are the same. Poseidon system claims no silica in their fertilizer

Too bad you can't just use skimmate to feed the phyto...

Alright, y’all are sharing, and I really appreciate that. When can I pick up my phyto that y’all are sharing?!

I realize that I'm a little late to the party on this thread...

Mike (GM357) got me started on the 'juice!' I just dose a splash with every feeding...

Happy reefing,

What are you using for lighting?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The light that I'm using (see below) probably wouldn't be my first choice for phyto, but I had it left over from a prior 'experiment...' I run the light full spectrum @ 100% for 16-18 hours per day. It works fine but it takes me about 2 weeks and a few additional fertilizer doses to get a good dark culture. I think many people can get a culture in about half the time with more advanced setups, but this setup meets my consumption rate ...and I might even have enough extra to give Cody a Liter of Phyto if he is ever in the League City area!!!

I will add that I agree with gm357's thought that the entire tank seems to benefit from phyto dosing.

Happy reefing,
RobbyeD

I use a T8 shop light turned sideways for multiple batches. An led for single. Neither out performs the other. Led puts out less heat, looks better, etc Screenshot_20201029-201616_Google.jpg 20201029_201707.jpg
