Seems like I don't have much light at the edges of my tank and have been thinking about adding some T5 to help the LEDs out. What are your thoughts? (2) 18" T5 on both sides? (1) 36" T5 in the front? Don't do anything?

Here are some pictures that might help explain what I am trying to do.

I have been happy with the maxspect led. New tank will be 36x18x25. Sits about 8" above water. LEDs are less than 2 years old. No new lenses.

I just ordered the 120degree lenses. Hopefully they will get the light where I want it.

I just got the new lenses installed and it looks tons better. Can't wait to see if it has any effects on the tank.

I grabbed my phone to take the before shot to make sure I had one. Then swapped out the lenses and grabbed an after shot. I realize I forgot to take the before shot. Must have been so excited to get the job done. :turboink:

How have you liked the led fixture overall? I had the maxspect g2 lights and had tons of issues with the drivers.

It's one of the reasons I am pretty set on waiting for v2 or v3 of the gyre.

I found an older photo but you will see the big difference on the sides of the tank.

I like the led fixture so far but this is my first tank so I don't have anything to compare them to. Everything is growing quick and have only lost a few coral but that was from the temperature spike I had a few months back.

One thing is that it generates a lot more heat then I thought (which caused the temperature spike). I need to find a really quiet fan to install in the canopy to help keep it cool. Anyone have any ideas?
