What is the tried and true reef safe PVC cement? Pic's would be great but not necessary.

I just use this for Sch 40 pvc with a clear cleaner from Oatey as well.
Oatey 32 oz. PVC Cement-310153 at The Home Depot

Anything from lowes. I use oatley too.

I like rain or shine.

It should all be food grade. I always used oatley. I find that the one that does not include cpvc is easier to work with. The all purpose is much more viscous.

Generally anything used for food application is good. Food grade silicon, pvc is used on water, etc.... It is good to have that kind of thoroughness tho

Momentive 100 series is if I read right. Silicon is used to seal where stainless steel meets the walls in restraint kitchens and grocery stores. That is considered a food contact surface.

Wow, never noticed that. I have several tubes of Momentive 100 series.

I am not sure if it's on the tube. When I bought my tube of rtv 103 in black not long ago it was mentioned that it was approved for food contact stuff.

I know RTV 108 is probably the best out there to build with. SCS 1200 is good too.

Yes sir, I have been painting the back of the tank these past couple days before I bring it in the house. I went out and got the PVC for the overflow and return's now I am going to order a couple Maggie mufflers. It is coming together I guess I could start a build thread....

Good to hear, able to salvage anything from the other? Build threads are always welcome- can brainstorm ideas in there.

I need to update my build thread. I think I will do that tonight. Plumbed my bean animal and tuned it. The internal overflow is just the right height. I used the rtv 103 and krylon. You can use krylon on the pvc you want to use inside the tank to hide it.

All of the equipment was salvaged and to my surprise seven corals and all of the hermits survived! Among the survivors was the high-end acan frag from reef currents(awesome). Vinegar and water for several weeks with water changes and a good scrub even pressure washed the stuff. Not the way I planned the switch the 120 but it got the ball rolling.
