Thanks! I am still working on it. Have to finish up the second door and get the magnets pocket drilled and then do the same to both sides and stain it. Prolly two more weekends and I will have it finished.

Great looking light.

Funny how we never seem to have the time to get our tanks where we want them.

Life gets in the way....

So, replacement water change tank was picked up! Let the plumbing begin!

Tank in its new home, you can see the cross supports installed for added strength and thicker acrylic.

Well the tank is well into the cycle now. Cyano Bloom is already dying off, and hair algea starting to grow. We are now starting the planning of our QT system that we need to get put in place. Any ideas? I was thinking of doing a 20 h under the DT.

FINALLY got corals in the tank, now letting the tank go follow for 7weeks in hopes of no more sick fish in the future along with quarantine procedures for all fish and corals.

Our black and white clam still getting used to his spot and the plate coral, lots of room on this rock for expansion :)

And we got the tank skinned! and for whomever said it could not be skinned with magnets on 3/4" plywood..proof is in this stand, works great! no hinges, all doors held in place by countersunk magnets :)

That's a slick 120 gallon setup, Keith.
Are you sticking with only one MP40?

Thanks Ben, we are going to stick with 1 mp40, I like them but it is definitely the loudest thing on the tank now! We replaced the other with 2 koralia 1400s and they are dead silent and generate some very good flow. Our little frag tank is now louder then the 120 and I love it! The vortech sits on the opposite side of the living room now in reef crest mode, so I can't hear it ramp.

This is how I did the pocket magnets. The way i did it was first traced a circle around the magnets i was using as a guide and used a drill bit to drill 4 starter holes just as deep as the drill bit began to bite. Then i used a round stone bit on a dremel to open up the hole to the circle guide I traced earlier at a depth just deeper than the bit, making sure the magnet fits in the hole. Then i put a bit of epoxy in the hole, dropped the magnet in and then covered it with epoxy making a little mound over the magnet. Let it dry then sanded smooth.

Another week, another update :). Got the power center up and running and spent all night figuring out the programming for our new APEX :) and found a nice wireless game adapter to make it nice and easy to setup on the network.

Also got the media reactor hooked up for some phosban and carbon. Left room for a 2nd container later on to run carbon separately.

And we couldn't help ourselves, had to get this new little girl, too adorable to pass up!

So I got the Apex installed and played with the programming, and it looks like we either got a bad or used unit. So now i will have to contact them to try to get a new unit. When I got home last night it had shut all the pumps down, and when I got to looking at it, it was showing a EB8 that we dont have and defaulted to the settings on that one. That is why I think it was used. Have to say I am a little bummed about it.

Keith, kinda had to the same problem and next Saturday we gonna set that staight.
Mark L is helping me out on this.
After playing with the APEX it's easy to install it all and program but the whole IT thing blows my mind.
This is the respond from APEX.

Ben,

I'm sorry to hear you are having some trouble with your recent Neptune Systems purchase and Energy Bar 8s. I can understand how frustrating this can be, and I hope to correct this problem both quickly and efficiently. Based on your description of the problem, I believe I will be able to correct the problem remotely by telnet. To do this I will need the unit available outside your home network via your public IP. I will need your log in credentials. I will also need your Apex's internal IP address forwarded to its web port (default 80) and forwarded to port 23 (telnet) in your router.

If you are unsure how to do this I recommend checking out the documentation section on our website. Specifically, the advance networking guide or "The Apex Comprehensive Reference Manual," by Alan Jones. If you still need help setting up your port forwarding rules, I would be happy to assist you with this via phone support. Please let me know a good time to contact you between 9-4pm PST, and I will do my best to accommodate your time.

Thank you,

Paul

Huh... Well I got the second EB8 taken off and got the program running properly, but the head unit itself is not displaying properly so I think it was too seperate problems. Thanks for the info Ben, and now I have a contact there, so I will be touching base with him about this issue.
