Anyone have a technique for attaching finger leather frags? They are slippery little buggers! For some reason I dont mind hacking them up, but I'm having problems reconciling myself with sewing them onto a reef plug... Got a few using the "rubberband" method but I'm not happy with the pressure stress..

go to the craft/fabric store and get some wedding vale netting. Use the netting to hold the frag to the plug until the frag attaches to the plug. you can rubber band the vale to the plug

With leathers, I like to take two small pieces of rubble and sandwich the leather frag between them. Then I rubberband the rubble pieces together. Remove rubberband in a couple weeks after leather has attached to rubble.

Yeah.. I like the "Rubble-Method".. I've used it before on a number of occasions.. The "Bridal Veil" method I use alot for Xenia, but have not had good success with Leathers, the leather tends to attach to the veil faster than the plug or rock.. I have read a number of articles about sewing them onto rocks/plugs with fishing line, but I havent tried this method yet..

you could use fishing line or you can also use normal thread. fishing line doesn't dissolve normal thread will fall apart after awhile in the tank. You have to make sure you keep them in a low flow area until they attach or the frag will cut right through the thread

I'm a big fan of the toothpick + rubberband method. Stick the toothpick through the base of the frag. Then rubberband the toothpick to the frag plug/rock rubble.
