are they going over the top of the overflow or through the teeth.

if they are bigger snails, just put some eggcrate over the top of the overflow box.

Are you exaggerating with the 80 to 100 snails a week? That's a lot of snails, do you have something in your overflow that is attracting them?

Thanks! that's a great idea. should I use silicone to attach it or something else?

"TheH"--- I wish I was exaggerating. At times, I can scoop them out like a hand-fulls gravel at the bottom of the overflow.

Hmmm and I bought a strainer for my dorso last year and haven't even installed it. Maybe this weekend when I do all my plumbing lay out, for new skimmer I'll install it. Never would think a snail would get caught up in that assembly.
Funny though my clown, which was my first of the group buy when I got my tank. Poor fella must of been dreaming, it likes to sleep sideways right by the overflow and one morning I thought it was dead, went to get it and it jumped right into the overflow box. Stayed there till I got home and retrieved him.
