Bought this frag at an LFS less than a month ago and it been growing like crazy. Was told it was a type of birds nest but he couldn't give me any more info.
This is 25 days time laps growth.

hmmm... looks kinda like Seriatopora guttatus to me.

Thanks, I added that Bonsai at the same time and its has changed to a nice dark purple since introduced to the tank. I had not noticed how much till i posted these pictures. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Whatever it is, It's growing like crazy. I might have to start trimming it back soon. All my other SPS are growing nicely but nothing in the ballpark of this guy's growth. A little bit over 2 months ago it was a 1.5 inch frag.

Looks like a screaming green birdsnest. They grow like a weed but are gorgeous when a large colony. I finally made the move and got rid of mine. I'd let it grow to the size of a basketball and then cut it in half every 6 months and sell off the frags. I did this for 4 years and finally got rid of it last month to make room for other corals.

Give that thing plenty of room and you'll get a gorgeous colony in time.

Thanks! It was definitely one of my favorite corals... I tried to remove it 4 other times but always put the mother colony back down once I got a good look at it again. Just too pretty to say goodbye to all those other times.
