I have a 24" 4 bulb set up and I am putting SPS under it. I mostly dig the deep water acros so I know the more blue lighting is appreciated. I really like the Giesemann Lagoon Blue bulbs. Should I get 3 of these and one actinic? Or maybe the better question is how would you handle the bulb combination? I primarily like the lagoon blue color so I would like to stick with that but how many and which actinics?

Tank is 25 inches deep and the lights are about 4 inches above the water. I would be placing it about 12 inches beneath the light.

I believe a lot of the folk using T5 choose the ATI blue+ due to the amount of PAR it puts out compared to other bulbs.

The blue+ are probably the highest PAR.
Although I do find they have a bit of a green tint to them.
I picked up a KZ SuperBlue. Expensive, but its similar to the Blue+ without the green tint.
One of each makes for a pretty nice dusk/dawn combo.
For 4 bulbs, I'm currently running 2x Blue+, the one KZ and one Coral+. I might eventually swap one of the blue+ for another KZ.
The Coral+ which has some pink in it, combined with the other three give a real nice quality light somewhere in the 20k neighborhood.

I can't speak for all Giesemann bulbs the but the two I have tried (Midday and Actinic Plus) seemed to dim more at the ends as compared to ATI which I am running now. I have a mix of 4 Blue+, 2 Purple+, 2 Coral+. I don't think you will be disappointed with ATI. Next bulb change I think I'm going to splurge and go all KZ. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about the colors they bring out as well as PAR.
