soo theres this white ish brownish looking that randomly appeared in my tank, it has 3 legs right now and looks like the other is growing.... trying to determine if this is something good, or something bad

most of the time they are ok.. They just eat algae off the glass

I had them appear in my tank and have had no problem. From the research I have done they only will be a problem when they are not getting enough food because there are to many of them. A harlequin shrimp will bring down the population very quickly when there are to many.
