Just found this site thru a reccomendation. I have 3 truview (55 tube tank, 50, and 15 Gallon) and one glass octogon 10 gallon feeder tank. I am just starting to get back into the hobby. At the moment I have the 55 gallon set up in my living room with corral and Damels only. I have both the 404 Fluval and also another brand that I cannot remember at the moment. My wife and I are looking to replace the living room tank with a much larger one.
It has been years since I have purchased new systems and the technology has greatly increased.
I am going to place the tube tank in my home office. It stays faily dark in there.
I can shop around and find a lot of new stuff and aquariums, but I would like to have some input from you professionals :D . I need new lights for both reef and also marine set ups as well as a protien skimmer and some power heads to start off with. Do any of you have anything extra you would like to get rid of? It has to be in good condition though. I am will to buy it, I don't expect anyone to give their stuff away. We are also in the market for a 150 or larger set up, Marine or Reef.

You can PM me or respond to my email, hankintexas@hotmail.com

P.S.
Nice Site!!

There's a pretty good flow of equipment going through the buy/sell section. Keep your eye on it and you'll find what you need.

As far as lighting goes, it all depends on your cash flow and preference. I would look into LED a bit considering your background. You can set some really nice DIY systems up if you research it and are hands on.
Next option some would lean toward is MH. However you can run into heat issues which could ultimately lead to the need for a chiller.
Lastly, (and the option I run) is T5's. These guys consumer less power than MH and less than LED (obviously) and can offer some great color choices by mixing and matching bulbs. they put out much less heat than MH and can be kept nice and cool with some inexpensive PC fans.

Skimmers... too many options to choose from. Prices range from a little over $100 all the way to multiple thousands of dollars. What's your price range? :)
