I wanted to create this list simply as a means to pass time, mix ideas/opinions, and also because I did not want to thread-jack someone elses thread. As you may know, the anticipation of my upcoming tank (hopefully sunday) is driving me to the point of insanity LOL! Keep in mind I am NOT putting fish in until my tank is cycled and safe. I have at least done that part before, but on a FOWLR tank 17x as big, never a reef and never this small...

My shopping List thus far:
(shopping list) My build thus far:
Tank:30G Oceanic Cube & stand - black trim/black stand
Filtration: Octopus HOB Skimmer
Lighting: Coralife 24" Aqualight Pro 150W HQI/2x65W PC/2x1W Lunar
Live Rock: 10#
Dead Rock: 20ish?
Substrate: Caribsea Crystal River OR Fiji Pink Reef Sand (cant make up my mind)

Upcoming Purchases:
5-10G DIY Refugium (whatever I end up having space for)
------

Stocking List Idea:

Corals:
Mushrooms
Rics
Zoas
Bubble Coral
Candy Cane
Hammer Coral
Plate Coral
Xenias
Torch Coral
Gorgonian
MAYBE Maricultured Stylopora Pistillata (seen from saltwaterfish.com)

Anemones:
1-2 (Sebae, BTA, Malu, maybe a carpet?)
Im not sure really what would be a good one to start with for a tank this small. With a larger tank you dont really have to worry about how big they get, if they are aggressive and whatnot. If anyone has any pointers on good anemones for a tank my size please lemme know!

Livestock:
2 Black and White Oci Clowns OR 2 Cinnamon Clowns (cant make up my mind)
1 Lyretail Hawkfish
1 Scooter Blenny (red or normal)
1 Sixline Wrasse

CUC:
1 Emerald Crab
10 or so Cerith Snails
1-2 Peppermint Shrimp
1 Fire Shrimp
1 Brittle Starfish

5-10Gallon Fuge List:
5 Cleaner Clams
Bristleworms
Cerith Snails
Chaeto

That is all I can think of for now really. I wouldnt mind having a few of the "prettier" macros in the main tank for show either. It just really depends on my livestock and whatnot. I also dont expect to fit all of those corals in the tank, I just wanna do what is the healthiest for the tank. I also and kinda leery on SPS' since I am not very experienced in keeping corals. I also tried to pick some things that were easy-moderate in keeping. ANY INPUT IS APPRECIATED!

All your equipment looks pretty good. Nice choice of coral, most are easy to keep. Just make sure the gorgonian is photosynthetic and not nonphotosynthetic. I would watch the torch b/c they extend their tenticles at night and will sting any near by coral. If you go with the BTA, make sure it doesn't get close to any powerheads, b/c they like to move around alot trying to find a good place in the tank.

thanks fishstick!

I got a few pointers from nano-reef and decided to stick with a BTA, and keep 1 of the 3 LPS' I listed because of that very fact! lol! I never even thought of that, so its good people are callin me out on the tenticles ;3 I figured I'd keep a hammer or bubble coral and maybe substitute a brain or acan instead.

I also was wondering if I added a purple pseudo if that would be pushing it fish-wise.

Then I wont even bother with it. Does anyone know if the Cinnimon Clowns are available anywhere locally? I know I can find them online, but dont know if anywhere locally carries/can get them. I dont want a Tomato Clown, just 2 cinni's.

All of the current fixtures have been discontinued and everywhere I look for them they are 48", 300$ and up. Im working on a VERY strict budget so Im buying used. I also need 20-24". I have found what I have listed for a unbeatable price, even if I was to replace every single bulb I get from it.

The ONLY thing to really sway my interest is either the outerorbit or sunpod. Which I have been lookin for one for a good 2 months. (Im not spending over 200$ for a fixture/lamps)
