First, I must say thanks to all the members on the forum that help out others including myself and for the individuals that take the time to document their incredible builds. I’m a Nano guy at this point but in a few years I’ll hopefully step up to a 90 and I am already planning to spend the money to do it the right way. Started the hobby ten months ago with a 16 gallon then moved up to a 29 gallon with a DIY 18 gallon sump. To this point I have lost only a few zoa frags , overcame hair algae, and have kept the spills to only a few gallons. I started a thread a week ago about purchasing a RODI, and I still may but I found out that the RO water I purchase has a TDS range from 2-6.
Issues: Diatoms, macro will not grow, coral growth?
System: 150W MH, Bubble Nac QQ skimmer, Carbon through TLF reactor
Parameters: Temp: 78-80, SG 1.026, PH 8.0, ALK 3.0 meq/l, Cal 300,Nitrate below 1, Phos?
Planning: New 14K bulb, dosing alk and calcium, possible RODI, adding new TLF reactor for GFO or run chemipure elite in the one I currently have.

I must say I am in the same boat as you. I have had fresh water tanks my whole life and grew up with my fathers 115g saltwater reef. I thought I knew a good amount about the hobby and still feel that I do, BUT I have also learned there is ALOT that I still don't know. I just started my own DIY 50G tank with an all in one sump. So to date I haven't lost any water on the floor but I have had my fair share of other issues.

I am only into my new tank now for about two months and I already have plans for a bigger tank like you. I just wanted to wish you good luck in the hobby. Keep us posted on your tank and your new build when it comes along.

By the way your tank looks great so far

Thanks, good luck as well. It has been an experience and it makes me appreciate the detail others take in their tanks. Dave

I don't see anything wrong with the tank. Be patient and let the tank mature. Keep up with the regular maintenance and you should be fine.

You don't mention an auto top off/Do you have one?

Overall, the tank looks great.

Thanks RR-Man, and yes I do have an ATO. I guess I may have been just a little picky about cleaning the glass everday and stirring the sand band every other. Dave
