I'm moving my water station to my garage, what are you guys doing to keep your water temp low? I was in my garage yesterday and it was pretty hot, had me wondering if higher water temp would be an issue when doing a water change.

Depending on the size of the water change, you could let it sit in some buckets in the house to drop the temp a little.

If you are only doing 10-15% water changes, a 10 degree difference in water temp shouldn't make too much of a difference in your reef.
But I was going to suggest the same as dayton if you are carting water change water into the house.
I do small daily water changes so it doesn't effect my tank temp at all.

Temperature outside can be as high as 15-20 degrees higher than your tank temp. What you can do is freeze a few gallon jugs of water and chunk them in to rapidly decrease temp before doing the change. Thats what i do sometimes.

Thanks for the suggestion dayton!

Dennis, that's about the percentage of water change I do every week. Thanks for giving me piece of mind. I'm glad I don't have to spend money on a chiller.

That seems like the simplest way to do it. If my water ever shoots up to 90 plus, this is the route I'll go...thanks!
