Well i came home tonight to two suprises.

1. My Marine Depot order- Seio 1500 to go along with my 2 620's in a 72 bowfront. Salifert test and salt.

2. My Kole Tang dead outside of the tank........ what would make him jump out???

BTW.... the 1500 Really kicked it up a notch!!

The open top seems to help in gas exchange, heat dispersion and light penetration.

You can put egg crate on top to prevent jumping.

it may just be me but i feel the eggcrate blocks quite a bit of light...i am trying to come up with a better alternitive but nothing right now.

does anybody use anything else?

i place eggcrate along the back side of my canopy. the canopy shields the other 3 sides. For people with open top, not sure there really is a good solution
