I have seen this before. I would buy it for the back of my tank... I hate cleaning it. I keep lids/canopies on my tanks and its just a pita. The question is, can it go around obstetrical like an over flow or something like that.

According to the article you can determine how far down it goes etc. You should be able to stop it from going down to the sand bed. So in theory unless you are kicking up sand all the time with your powerheads or you have a really messy sand sifter, that shouldnt be a problem.

Also if you have starboard or bare bottom tank it wont affect you at all.

i'll be mr. grinch on this one:
1. it doesn't turn corners
2. who would want a large glass cleaner as a permanent obstacle to the view of the front of the tank?
3. scrubber inside the tank is too thick. One thing I don't like about most glass cleaners is that they are not thin enough.

I think that for some, like the people who have REALLY large tanks and cleaning is a huge pain would think its worth it. I think its worth it for the back but not the front. It would be an eye sore if left there.

I could see putting the scrubber in every couple of days to let it do its thing and then taking it out.

I got nothing on the corners thing... I dont even see how such a thing would be possible.

I would love to have one.

email reply from them:

Hello Andy,

Thank you for your interest in our product.

Our current RoboSnail model works on standard aquariums ranging from 55 gallons to 150 gallons with recomended max glass thickness of 11mm so just around a .5 inches. We are working on a next generation model that will be able to handle thicker glass for more custom applications such as yours. Our current model will be available in the US by the summer. If you have more suggestions or there is something you would like to see in our future model please do not hesitate to make a suggestion. Once again thank you for your interest and happy holidays.

Best Regards,

Aquagenesis Intl.
