So stopped at T&T today i just couldn't stand it, and wow they have beautiful stuff. Primarily checked out tanks and stands talked with johnothan, real nice guy. I pretty much fell in love with the rimless reef octopus 30 gal reef ready tank with stand and sump. Does anyone have experience on these tanks??

Que has some of the best retail show tanks in Houston! His approach is old school simple. Sumps with refugiums, clean rock work with spectacular aquascapes and for lighting his big tanks are 400w Reeflux metal halide with VHO super actinics.
Beautiful displays!
When I restarted my tank, I when with a similar lighting setup, I used 250w Reeflux 20,000k metal halides and 4 T5's.

Yes, TNT is looking great.

I dropped by last weekend, and met the new reef guy, Johnny. Yes, they re-painted the cabinetry and are stocking fully, again. I saw a good mixed selection again. In the last year or so, the last were pretty bare when I dropped by.

The have some great prices too. I saw a pretty purple and red 'Acanthophylla' for about half of what I've seen elsewhere which is a pretty great price for that species and coral.

Yes sir, I just can't seem to order a tank online due to the possibility of it breaking, can't wait to dive back in. A lot of people still in the hobby in the houston area? Also great looking tank man. If you hear anybody selling some used stuff I'm sure ill be interested, seems someone is always getting out of the hobby.

Yes they had some great looking livestock there, vibrant and healthy. Im far from that though just looking at tanks at the moment. Oceans, still a lot of people in houston into marine reef keeping? More members or less?

I need to make it out to TnT. Been forever since I've been there. They have always had great tanks.

There's a lot more reefers in Houston than ever before. I say that because the reefing community is supporting many more local fish stores that are selling more goods and livestock, IMHO.

I don't know about our historical membership numbers. I hope we're growing. However with complete bias, I can say that the MARSH membership is composed of Houston's most serious and fun reefers :)

T&T is the reason I have a reef tank. I saw what was possible and went for it. They have been around a long time. Their stony coral prices are pretty reasonable. Most are grown in their show tanks and fragged out periodically. That means they are already used to tanks. They are not a chop shop that hacks up wild colonies and glues them to rocks. My first tank I had in the hobby had a decent amount of stuff from them in it.
