Just wanted to thank you for the monti caps, they look great in my tank. Had a good time too, it was very cool to meet people that share your interests. If you need help getting the new tank in let me know.

Read your thread on R2R. That sux that the humidity became an issue. I think it's for the best though. Like you mentioned, the exhaust with cars in the garage is not something I'd want to gamble with. No telling what it could leach off in the water and spike or kill the whole tank. Sounds like the new system is planned well with better equipment too. Good luck with the new build and transfer. FYI, my sand was horrible when I upgraded. The funk and smell that comes out when your moving it is nasty. However, I wish I would have kept the sand alive. If I were you, I would put it in the new tank. You will have a horrible cloud for 2-3 days, but I think it's worth it. My tank spiked without it. Hopefully you'll have better luck. Looking back, I would have transferred only the sand first, wait about 3 days running a filter sock to let everything settle, and then move the rock over.

The humidity wasn't the issue. Well, not the main one. Mostly i took care of the humidity with a dehumidifier. After i got that I didn't really have a problem.
The biggest issue was heat management after i got the halides. Between the lights and the heat in the garage, the chiller was running pretty heavy. Now I'll have AC in the room.

The sand was nasty and would have had to be cleaned.
The garbage men took it a couple weeks ago.
I'd much rather get brand new sand from TBS with fresh critters in it. And it will help cycle the tank. :)

Ohh yeah, the A/C in the room will do it. Then a simple fan blowing on top of the tank.

Yeah, I knew the sand would be funky. I keep forgetting you have deep pockets. That's even better, just buy new live sand. :)

Hey Dennis, I know you said you were going to start QT tank.

This is a nice little deal, and would be a good addition to your fish room. Not sure if you would be interested..

tank/stand/LED light

Thanks, man.... that's not bad... not bad at all. :)
Except I don't need the stand. And not sure what I'm going to do about light yet.
I'm probably just going to pick up another 40 breeder or something during petco's next $1/gallon sale.
That's what I picked up to use as a frag tank.

No problem. Yeah, can't go wrong with a 40/B. Especially if you plan to keep and QT tangs.

I like to use smaller tanks to save money on salt and WC's. All my QT/HT's are 5/G, 10/G, and I use a 20/L for tangs. They do really well in it. I change my QT water about once a week. So you can see how a larger tank can become a headache and burn up all your salt.

Glad to hear your QTing now, it's the best way to go.

Yeah, a 20l might work too. I think those are also included in their sales.
Still have to figure all that out but yes, i do keep tangs so can't go too small.
