ok so this is the 6th shrimp i have tried to settle in my tank i used to use the float and release acclimation method now i tried holding a bag over my shrimp for about an hour to drip acclimate and as always he dies in about 3 to 5 seconds i need to know if its my tank or me i cant get measurement right but ive botched a fish acclimation and it takes them at least 3 minutes to die so what is going on?

Are you able to test your parameters? Salinity..temperature..ammonia..all that good stuff? How long did you let the tank cycle?

Shrimps are very sensitive to salinity change. The best way to do it is use a 1 gallon bucket on the floor and put your shrimp in that with the water from the store. Use an airline to slowly drip water from your tank into the bucket. Once that fills up dump the water outBy 70% and then repeat the process. Do that a few times and then release the shrimp into your tank.

If it died within seconds something is major wrong... buy an icp test or take your water to a lfs to be tested... also that drip method you used, did someone recommend that?

that container your dripping into needs to stay the same temp as your take, but even temp shouldn’t kill it in seconds.. do you use salt in your water?

If you keep losing animals I'd try and figure out whats wrong before trying another. What are your water parameters? Have you treated the tank with any medications, like for ick or anything like that? A lot of meds can be bad for inverts.

Did you treat copper in the tank? Regardless if you got rid of sand and rock, copper can still be leaching from silicone. Have you tested your water for copper?

1) Are you using the same tank you treated with Copper? (You didn't answer this from my previous post)
2) If you indeed treated with Copper, what else besides removing the sand and rock you did to sterilize the tank and confirm no traces of Copper?
3) If nothing else was done, I'll bet that's most likely your issue.

yes it is the same tank i scrubbed it heavily used vinegar rinsed it down than refilled and after that, a 30-gallon water change but i have a living emerald in there so i assumed it was safe
edit
also if there is copper in my tank what do i do bout it cause i can't afford to replace all my stuff again and i don't have the will to do it again and if it is in the tank its in low levels in i have a crab alive in there

If you emptied and cleaned the tank then I doubt it's copper but it's still possible. Copper is a tricky thing and can still be around even when test kits say its not. Like TriggerFan said it can leech out of stuff over time. If it does end up being copper, hopefully the ICP test will tell you, there are a few things that will get rid of it. I've used Seachem Cuprisorb in the past, cheap and easy, 8 bucks treats something like 60 gallons. Stick it in a bag and shove it somewhere in your filter/sump like activated carbon and leave it there for a couple weeks. It could just be something like shock though. Your salt is a little low but not unbearable, but if the shrimp comes from somewhere with high salt it could be an issue. Shrimps are extra sensitive to salinity while crabs are pretty tough in general so its hard to compare the two. Try and raise your salinity a bit over time and do your best to match it and temperature when you acclimate.

ok cause if that answer was its copper you have to replace your tank i would have blown my brains out ( been dealing with copper for about 6 months and just recently thought i dealt with it) but ya i know cuprisorb funny thing about it i used it without a bag due to reading instructions wrong and getting wrong media bag so it didn't help much but thanks
