In about a year or so, I'll probably be forced to sell my 150. I have no room for it in my home and my offices will be downsized or eliminated and I'll work out of my home or a Starbucks.

I would like opinions as to whether I can sell it to someone complete or if I will be forced to sell it off a la carte. I'm more interested in not dragging out the process instead of making as much money as possible off it, although I do want to get some of my investment back.

BTW, it's a reef tank with a tall stand (restaurant height)... older vids of it can be seen here, but the inhabitants are just as happy :)

PS - nothing is for sale today.

You will get more people interested in buying individual pieces rather than a whole setup. Sucks as it does drag out the process but you have the potential to make the same if not more money.

Keep in mind you must be a paid member to post items for sale in the BST forum. FS posts should not be put in the general discussion forum.

BTW, that tank looks nice. Very healthy aged sytem.

Thanks for the input and the reminder about correct forum protocol, which I do not feel I have compromised. I'm not fishing for buyers of anything and love my tank exactly the way it is. This really is just a general discussion about getting out of the hobby with the most money and the least hassle.

I added the video clip to show everyone how big the system is critter-wise and what an undertaking it would be to sell it off a piece at a time.

Anyone have a different or corroborating opinion or experience selling a big tank and critters all at once to one buyer?

Selling complete requires less of you obviously, but finding a buyer usually proves to be impossible.

I think you have a hassle on your hands either way when selling all, but you will get the most out of the system, and be done sooner by parting out; albeit with a bit more work on the listing/communication/scheduling side.
