There is no need for fish such as puffers and cowfish to be removed from the water just to get a shot of you smiling at the camera as air induction into their bodies can be lethal if not expelled nor is messing with a puffer within a tank, making it puff up just to get a good shot. Some of their remarks regarding quarantine were incorrect and without offering explanation of how they can add a multitude of fish at one given time, any inexperienced person would think they could do it to.

If someone watches this show and then tries to duplicate it without any experience or knowledge, then they're just plain dumb. I didn't have any concern of Joe Schmo watching Xtreme Home Makeover and then deciding to start knocking down walls of his home. I don't have that worry now. When you're hand picking fish from a reliable source, and adding to a 1000+ gallon system, there's no reason to worry about fish load. You're trying to equate your experience with a couple of hundred gallons, at most, to these monsters. They're in a whole different ballgame. Just sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Unfortunately there are people whom try to replicate what they see on tv, even via the movie nemo lol. I work with thousands of gallon systems daily, you always worry about fish loads and the impacts they create within with every introduction. The show is fairly scripted and really comes down to what producers think will keep ratings up. The show shares similarities with American Chopper, but with aquariums. The company is very well respected for their work and is top-notch, unfortunately it got lost in the first two episodes by "showmanship" (probably has more to do with producers than the company). I'd love to see them move to a more educated audience and add some substance or at least a more in-depth process as to the actual tank construction.

I hear ya...But the general public doesn't want to watch that. They want a crabby customer asking for the impossible, two fat New Yorkers arguing with each other, and then see the final product. "We" are a very small demographic. Nobody else cares about the "guts" of the aquarium build.

They should add a disclaimer...Don't try this at home! Professionals ONLY.

They did say that the average build takes up to six weeks to complete. So I don't think they take it too lightly. That being said...I don't think 99% of the population has the money to try those at home. That QT tank build was $35,000.
