Hey guys,

I wanted to reach out to the MARSH community and see if there was anyone interested in writing aquarium-related articles for the AquaNerd Blog (http://blog.aquanerd.com). We aren't looking for anything specific, just people who have a passion for saltwater (and potentially freshwater) aquariums, a good grasp aquarium concepts, and the desire to share their thoughts and opinions with the rest of the aquarium hobby. We've had a few contributors come and go, and we're currently looking for someone a bit more permanent. The site publishes an average of three articles per day about just about every type of topic related to saltwater aquariums, and we would like to find someone with a similar commitment. There are a few perks to writing for a site such as the AquaNerd Blog, and they're outlined below if you are interested.

The site has grown by leaps and bounds since it began in 2009. It is visited by multiple thousands of aquarium hobbyists each month from nearly every single country in the world. It's a site that I've worked tirelessly to develop, and we're constantly trying to find new ways to improve it.

Perks to writing for AquaNerd:

-If you publish articles on the blog, they will be read by thousands of people each month. This means your content and name will be injected into the online aquarium community, which can later serve as a great jumping off point for future endeavors in the saltwater aquarium industry. These include speaking at events or even publishing aquarium articles in magazines and other online publications.

-By joining AquaNerd, you can get to use free equipment as part of our aquarium equipment review process. You will have access to equipment that hasn't even been released to the public that you can use over your aquarium indefinitely. It's unethical for us to sell the donated equipment, but we do give it away through promotional contests and drawings that in turn drive more traffic to the site. As an AquaNerd writer, you can also get discounts on equipment for your permanent personal use for your aquarium.

-Eventually, we would like to pay authors for their contributions. We aren't quite at that point yet, but as we gain more advertisers and increases in traffic, this could easily become a possibility.

-Lastly, you could get your very own @aquanerd.com email address. It's obviously not a huge perk, but a perk nonetheless.

If you are interested in joining AquaNerd, email me at admin@aquanerd.com or send me a private message here on MARSH.

Thanks,

Brandon Klaus

Not at all, but I guess there is a parental consent issue if you are under 18 maybe, or is it 13 for the web? I don't know, but something could be worked out.

i feel yah...i work from 5:45 am to 4:30 pm, take care of the dogs and fish, then work on the site for a few hours before going to bed. maintaining a site and publishing multiple articles per day is quite time consuming.

Yeah I got it. I have been feeling like crap the last couple of days and I've been swamped at work. I've got a few pm's and emails to get back to and I plan on replying to everyone by tonight or tomorrow.
