The female mandarin in my tk has been pregnant for a while but i didn'tget a chance to see their mating dance until tonite.. so cool :wink:

It's 'technically' a mandarin dragonette but is usually called a psychedelic mandarin goby.

I went to Google to look for pictures of the two differnet dragonettes to post for you and found one website that shows too specimens in very poor shape. Yikes! :(

Quoc, that is AWESOME! I caught my pair once while the actinics were still on but the pictures turned out pretty cruddy. Your female looks enormous! LOL

That would be the ULTIMATE cool! Put me down first on your list to buy your captive-bred mandarin babies! :D

From what I remember reading, they are broadcast spawners. Mine never made baby mandarins, but they did that beautiful twirling dance up through the water column at night. It sure was sweet to watch.

A very succesful clownfish and cardinal breeder on www.saltwaterfish.com has tried raising mandarins, but hasn't yet been able to get them pass the first stages of life. Nor has any one else for that matter.

I do believe that someone has raised mandarins. Not positive, but I wanna say it was C-Quest.
