I thought with this new kind of revolutionary wave maker flooding the market right now and it been a while that us Hobbyist got excited about something new.
Here is a thread to change out ideas, comments and experiences about this awesome pump as in most if not all positive reviews.
We all can compare this with existing pumps out there but remember to play nice.

For ppl who doesn't know the Maxspect Gyre here's some info,

I was watching a few video's on the Gyre and am pretty excited to see it in action. I do like that the 2 larger units will be able to go in reverse as well. I think it's moving up my Christmas list from Mrs. Claus

Did u get one? Curious about how they do in a full tank. Original video had balls in a tank with no rock.

Negative.
CoralVue handed too much Beta pumps before final release.
Chris gave me a code to get one as the first 200 released in the US but as this pump came from a vendor in NJ I choose to pass and get it local.
I wasn't in a hurry and I'm just two weeks behind.
This Friday I have some time to play with it.
You can see the vid I posted with LR in there.
There are plenty more on the web from ppl who have one.
Will post any updates from my findings on this thread, and if we don't like it I'll stick with those old fashion noise vortech pumps.

Well no quite, ppl had problems when the glass was thicker than 3/4" and if the wire (damn wires in the tank) not were pre shaped to make a good cure for no pressure on the glass.
Having this pump cranked up more that 40% it will blow any fish, coral or sand out of the tank.
Most ppl who already ran this have it on large tank as we taking about the XF150 and if your tank is 48" or smaller you better wait for the FX135.
I have seen tanks from 72" and on a max power of 30%, go figure!
I think if I was reading it right they will have stronger magnets if you have 3/4" or thicker later this year.
Another thing is that some didn't return to their programmed setting after the feed mode went back to programmed setting but it choose a different setting.
From the close to 3000 already on the market one pump broke and will be replaced for free as the commit to their customer service.

Maxspect gyre FTS - YouTube

Here is a full tank shot that shows some movement etc... only on 10% pulse every 30 seconds.... only other thing in tank is return and that is a DC return on lowest setting...
Tank is 60x24x18

Well, today was Terrific Tuesday Gyre Day................
Finally I was able to sneak away from all that freaking work and complaining guys that it's cold.
Finished my day at 11 and hang for a little while at FJW.
After getting home fooled around a little bit and installed the Gyre................ must say with the rock scape in my tank I have only one dead spot and that is under the Gyre.
Have it set on long pulse mode on 50% and so far so good, overall more water movement that all my MP40's together.
The dead spot area I'll take care of it with a mp40 on the left back wall.
If Dennis has one left over I'll take that for the right side.
As I said will evaluate for a while as is and see how corals respond but also my parameters.

31 to go........

Got one Wednesday last week , have not had a chance to play with the settings :

first review ,...
1) not strong enough for 8' tank ,..as as manual indicates...( full power) Will upgrade to another unit or 70w unit when available.
2) as already reported struggling with 3/4 glass.
3) vs 2 x mp 60's and 2 rw 25's ,.... ok different pattern...
4) like the wide spread easly covers 32 inches width.
5) still using , mp60's for against back wall, lowest setting.
6) cleaner look without rw 25.
7) defiantly creates the circular motion as advertised and circulates previous dead spots.
8) not disappointed.

Picked mine up from FJW and have it mounted vertically on the corner of an 80g tall cube. Tank is fairly new so not much coral in there just some LPS on the sand bed. Since setting up the gyre on pulsing mode the corals are all opening nicely. Only problem is it sets up a vortex in the sand directly below it in the corner and I have an underwater sand dune moving rearward from the front of the tank. It definitely move a wall of water around the tank.
