Those with durso standpipe experience? (1 Viewer)

Hey people I bought a brand new 120 RR tank today! One thing I've never really had to deal with is the durso stand pipe. I am trying to decide whether or not to DIY the stand pipe or pay the $130 bucks for the both of them (included is bulkheads and return pipes). Now I am interested in saving as much $$$ as I can so it can go to more new sand, or LR, or whatever else I can fit into the stand. I am just not sure how much a pain it would be... Any thoughts?

make it yourself. super easy. and the bulk heads that usually come with them are molded nipple at the bottom. Not good if you want to hard pipe your system.

I agree, DIY and save money. Or I'll do it for 1/2 that price.

I bet that works well!

For a120 or maybe a 180 yes bigger it will be tough.
All you need is a standpipe on the right length and stick this on top.
Easy to clean too.

To answer your question Reefaholic I bought a used 90 gallon that came equipped with a durso. So with the Maggie Muffler all I need is the PVC Stand pipe, Maggie muffler, and a way to connect it to the tank(buklkhead)?

Yes Maggie muffler standpipe and then bulkhead and our are good. My 180 has them on it.

Just bought a new Marineland tank that comes with the kit. What do you mean by molded nipple? Thanks
