Hey guys,

I bought a Threadfin Goby when I went to see Kenny last week and didn't get the pistol shrimp. Upon doing some research I've read about their simbiotic relationship, will he be fine alone? He's found a cave to hide in, should I dig him a hole...not sure if I could actually (2" oolithic aragonite sandbed).

Sherri...I stumbled across your webpage during my research and you said yours finally come out in the open. How long did it take? I bought mine Friday and he only pokes his head out of the cave briefly for food...it took me 3 days to find him :)

He will do fine without the shrimp, just like the shirmp will do fine without the goby.

Ummm, I don't remember. More than 3 days, it seems!

I currently have a pair of threadfins plus the little Sri Lankan pistol shrimp. They mostly stay hidden but that's because the regal angel hangs out near their main opening and they are always darting away from him.

Go back and get that pistol shrimp, girl! :)

The combination of the two is really neat. They will do fine apart, but it is neat to have the two together since they are already bonded. I think you should go get the little shrimp he misses his friend.
