Anyone have any tips? It's pretty smart and won't let me catch it with a net. Thought about trying the bottle method but honestly I think it'll figure out the way out. I really like it but it keeps stealing food from my lps corals. Time for it to go. Fish traps actually work?

I think I might, idk if I should try it with the lights on or off. I'd like to be able to watch it so if it does go in it I can grab it before it has a chance to escape.

They aren’t as smart as you think. You can probably leave it over night and be fine. I’ve caught multiple shrimp and fish in a water bottle

Just stick your hand in there near them and hold it still. After a minute or two it'll climb on to start looking for stuff to clean. Once it does, grab your net and slowly work up under your hand and keep the net towards the back end of the shrimp. If it goes to flick back it'll go right into the net.

Or get a mason jar or largish glass, a smallish rock, piece of solid food like a chunk of silver side or scallop and a rubber band. Hold the bait to the rock with the rubber band, put it all in the tank and wait. As soon as the shrimp walks in to get the food reach down and cover the opening with a net, and lift it out. Should only take you a couple minutes to trap it.
