HI Everyone

I am looking to buy a TDS Meter unit and I wanted to know which of the two is the better quality.

Titanium S3 Digital Inline TDS Meter with Three Probe Sensors - Auto Aqua

or

Triple Inline TDS Meter TRM-1 - HM Digital.

I know the Titanium is a little bit higher in price but that sometimes does not mean better quality and vice versa..

Has anyone used either one of these and what is your opinion?

I just always assumed that all TDS meters were more or less the same quality. I never ever really gave it much second thought. I assumed that technology was pretty much locked down.

It pretty much is. I’ve field tested meters the cost several hundred dollars and cheap amazon Chinese meters they are plenty accurate it’s really not worth the investment IMO. I just run the water over my probe while filling my tote. I check it for every water change...

It is not one of those it is a triple inline TDS meter probes that you hook up to your RODI unit. Between different canisters. There are three probes.

I know what device you are talking about. I’m just saying one probe is no better than another. I used to do a lot of chemical related work. When multi million dollar boilers are being cleaned we use some pretty top notch equipment to ensure water quality. I’ve tested cheap meters against the pricey ones. The tests come out the same...

Great to see you are using a three-probe meter rather than a two-probe meter.

TDS meters are simple devices - and there is not much you gain by going with an expensive meter. This is the opposite for pH meters.

@Buckeye Hydro

I got the triple one - does it require any maintenance after certain period of use?

Battery will need to be replaced at some point.

Periodically make sure your probes are aligned correctly in their tees.

Can you recalibrate? Yes - and any adjustment to the potentiometer affects the calibration of all there probes simultaneously.
