What would consider a fair deal on a used tank and stand. I recently seen a few used tanks I would like to purchase but it seems like lately people have been over pricedthem?I have sold plenty of used tanks and have to almost give them away.

What size? Reef ready? Comes with equipment? New tanks cost thousands...

It's basically a seller's market right now. Doesn't matter if it's new or used with supply shortages hitting virtually everything prices go up. Many people when attempting to sell used will compare to a new item and base the price on that. Since the new item price has increased in many cases so too will the used prices. You also need to consider the time of year. Summer is usually the worst time to buy used aquariums as far less people are selling them so prices tend to spike from lack of competition. Late winter to early spring is typically when you see more used tanks up for sale and better pricing. People have been outside less during the winter and usually make the choice to shut down by the end of the season and then put everything up for sale.

Another thing to consider most of the "cheap" tanks are gone and like @Erin mentioned most modern tanks can sell for thousands when new, so when people go to sell their used tank they dropped say 2K for a couple of years ago want to try to recoup as much of that investment as possible.

I've got a really nice 120g made by deep sea aquatics for sale. I haven't listed it but its 42" x 30" x 22" tall. Rimless starfire all around. Bought it from another member and never put water in it. I gave him $500 for it. Would let it go for that.
