I have VHO ballast ARO 440 will light up 4x48' VHO and ARO 220 will light up 2x48' VHO. I know thw Icecap 660 or 430 can be use for T5. Does anyone know I can use the ARO ballast for T5 just need to replace the endcap. Thank you very much for ur help

I may not be of much help here, but ... a used "T5" setup that I bought a while back turned out having ballasts for T12 bulbs (marked on casing), the T5 bulbs I got with them run fine with them and have had no issues thus far.

You may want to research this more thoroughly. I'm too tired to research it right now, but I've read about certain ballasts being better when it comes to the way the bulbs are driven and the way the bulbs are started; esp for T5HO. I know that's not too much help, but look up the Aquactinics Constellation vs TX5 ballasts. Apparently the two fixtures use the two different types of ballasts from what I remember. That should at least help yuo out with where to start searching for info.

isn't the ARO the same as the IceCap?

Their 440 and 220 look just like the 660 and 430, the 175W MHs are identical. (I could be wrong here)

They should light fine just keep a fan on the bulbs.

Thats what I was woundering. I have a ARO 440 running VHO's and was woundering if I could run T5's with it on my new tank.
