A boil water notice has been issued for the City of Houston’s Main Water System (TX1010013). The water pressure dropped below the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s required minimum of 20 PSI during a large (96-inch) water line break at 610 & Clinton Drive in East Houston.

Think this will effect the quality of water that comes out of my ro/di system? Are my fish and corals gonna be trippin?

Depends on the ro/di system. The low pressure will reduce how well the membrane works and you'll burn through your di really fast because of it since it won't be as clean as it should be when it gets there. Something like a 7 stage might be able to handle whatever get through the membrane but I wouldn't trust it without testing. I doubt a 4 stage could since I found they already have trouble getting rid of everything in my part of town. I turned mine off for now just in case and hopefully they get it going again soon before my barrel runs dry.

mine is a 7 stage and it only runs at night for about an hour, during the water break yesterday we had no water at all but when it came back on around 5 it was fully pressurized. so when my system started making water at 2am it did have good pressure plus i have a booster pump.. but will that be enough, im not even sure what i would test for.

If you have good pressure then then it should remove all the chemicals just fine, but they arn't designed to remove diseases and you'll want to boil what it produces. Whether any diseases that come through would hurt saltwater livestock is doubtful though. Since yours runs so little it's probably fine, but its recommended to replace all the filters and membrane after an outage like this with extended use since the diseases and bacteria tend to linger in the filters and will still come out in your water. If the boil advisory last much longer though I'd replace everything just in case, which sounds like will be at least another day unfortunately.

Well city it back to normal so I flushed all my lines and fired up my rodi... but now I can’t get my tds lower than 8ppm. All my filter are new except for my membranes, I swapped them out just a couple months ago.... maybe they got fried so I’m gonna try to replace those and see if it helps.
