Do you test your tank and/or your new saltwater before a water change?

If so, how close do you expect the #s to be?

If not, how do you keep from having accidental/major swings in parameters occasionally?

So far, I have just mixed up my salt to 1.026 and completed my water changes. Fish and LPS have never complained. Now that I am trying to have some SPS, I am concerned that I should be a little more intentional than that.
