Not sure if it's my imagination or not...... I have done everything as correctly as I possibly can...... so I had my Ph checked the other day with a meter..... (which I purchased) my ph was 7.9 and I was advised to add Kalk+2 to raise the Ph..... I rigged up a drip...... I have monitored the Ph for 2 days now..... I now have the Ph at 8.2 to 8.3 What I have noticed...
1) the water looks even cleared then before....
2) the fish seem to be swimming around more actively
3) the fish look more brighter in color....

am I crazy.. or is there something to the above Ph change?

Usually with a higher ph comes higher oxygen content in the water. That could be the reasoning behind the fish being more active and when I use to dose kalk, I noticed my skimmer outake increased as well....which would lead to cleaner water. Glad to hear that you got your ph up and that your tank is now shiny and crystal clear. Neither one is ever a bad thing.
