So what is everyone keeping their tank at? I have serious “ugly tank” syndrome on account it’s a new system. Started with acid washed rock and new, dry substrate. Did a fritz / brightwell quick cycle and am adding Prodibio Biodigest. Diatoms have taken hold and are doing what they do best… make your tank look brown . Tested the water yesterday and I am

I’m am going to hook up a GFO Rx to help with a phosphate because it should be around x.7 not 7.x lol. I must admit, I don’t really test unless there is a reason so I guess there are others like that too. What are you running your tank at? Is 10ppm still a target No3 parameter?

Wow, I'm freaking out about my tank's Po4 being around 0.4. At this level several of my Acros have turned largely brown. I'm shooting for around 0.03. I think 5-10 is a good goal for No3.

I will have check into that. Right now I am in the reef darkness. I bought replacement lids for aquamaxx media reactors. Asked for 1/2” barbed fittings, came with 3/4” Great. Now finally found some decent 3”4 tubing and immediately encountered the non existent barbed fittings selection at ace and lowes. What a bunch of junk. I can’t even find a plastic barbed reducer . Very disappointing.

what did you use to test the PO4 level?

As someone else had pointed out privately, I am using HI774 this is a ULR Hanna test that ranges from .00 - .90 not sure how I got a 7.4 reading but suffice it to say that I have retested and wound up with….. drumroll.. 0.74… and a water change and gfo in a media reactor. How’s that for second decimal

I don’t have any corals right now though so I don’t think it’s that critical for fowlr tank other than unsightly algae.

I always match the parameters on my salt. I’m using blue bucket Red Sea.

Salinity: 35 PPT
Calcium: 430
Magnesium: 1350
Alkalinity: 8 dkH
Nitrate: 0.5
Phos: 0.02

If my phosphate goes a bit higher I don’t sweat it, but I don’t let it crash to 0.

That being said my tank is a hot mess so don’t listen to me. Lol!
