I recentely bought a complete tank & it came with a Seio 620 & 820. They are both very weak & I can only feel the flow for about 3 inches in front of them. I assume they should put out a lot more flow than that. Both were covered in corline & were really dirty, so I took them apart & cleaned them very well. That didn't seem to help. The impellers both looked fine, but I'm guessing that has to be the problem. Anyone have any other ideas?

Could be the impellers "swelling". Mine did that right before one of them cracked and gave out. Replaced the impeller....all good now...
I'm not saying that's your issue, just my experience...
BTW, this was on a pair of 1500's...

Make sure the cover around it is twisted to where you can see through it too, makes a big difference.

I noticed the flow adjustment when I was cleaning them. I have them opened all the way & they still have a very weak flow. I think I'm going to try replacing the impellors. Does anyone know if anyone local has them?

I take that back, their site seems to be glitchy right now....I ended up getting mine from marinedepot, FWIW.

Yea make sure the holes letting the water go through arent clogged up and my 820 Seio i can see movement on the other side of my 5' long tank.

When you look straight on at the impeller, does it wobble, or spin irregularly. It may not be sitting right causing an "weakned" flow..

I completely took them apart & cleaned them. All the holes are clean. The impeller looks the be running prefect. What's the little blue knob for? Can that affect the flow? For some reason I don't believe I can have 2 pumps with bad impellers, I have to be missing something...

from a Reefcentral thread..it says that its an air inlet knob, to allow adjustment of the amount of airbubbles produced. Never really messed with mine. Might try and check it out now...
