Well on my weekly trip to the LFS I just needed some carbon and a couple socks, (didnt feel like washing them), well I am checking out and Momma is bagging my stuff up and this little kid no older than 10 walks out the store with a big gerbil cage followed by his sister or mom (couldnt tell), well I didnt say anything at first bc he was already gone. Well I am about to walk out the door and here he comes back into the store, well I chill for a minute, and try to see where he goes....

Well he is back in the back by the big display tank stuffing a big bag of gerbil food in his hoodie, I yell stop, haha that was the funniest look I have gotten in a long time. Well he starts telling me sorry and all this BS, well I told him I saw you get that gerbil cage, and tell him to go get it out the car while I am following him, well when I get to the car, his accomplice is in the car putting the cage together. Well she is blaming him the whole time while she is tryin to talk SMACK. Well all I am telling her is to get the hell outta there and take her bro/kid with her. Well I tell the kid to go put the cage back as well as the gerbil food. Well he did that and I told him that these people work hard for what they have, and you cant come in here taking stuff etc. etc.

Well he is walking out the store while his sis/mom is walking back in like nothing happened at all. Well she starts talking mess to me telling me she is gonna take everything I got blah blah blah, mind you bc she thinks I worked there... I laughed and started up myself... Shouldnt have done that but the way she was she needed it. All while Hong and David are sitting there like WTF is going on, bc I still havent told DAVID CP that they were trying to steal....

Sorry David and Hong, but I dont condone stealing esp from a 10 year old that has a crappy excuse for a parental...

Good for you... You should have turned them in, and let the cops deal with the little thief's maybe they would have stopped talking so much smack.
Little different attitude when they are trying to explain to a cop why they had gerbil food down there pants and an unpaid cage in the car.

HAHA thanks yall, but it was him that stole the stuff, but the parental was not stopping it, I left out she was walking behind him the whole time, and laughin while he made it out the door, so she needed the slap, but thats not up to me.... I just wished the cops that usually direct traffic were out there, but for the first time they werent....

Good job on spotting em. I seriously would of called the cops though. Thats one way of teaching the youngster and the older person a lesson. Nothing like ruining their day with having to wait on the cop to get there etc.

I stole some pencils (they were those Yikes pencils, you know the really cool looking ones 8) ) from Randalls when I was in the 4th grade, got caught and was taken in the back room. They threatened to call the cops etc. Haven't stolen a thing since.

My dad is a police officer.. we were in Academy sports when I was like ten I guess... we were walking out and all of a sudden my dad does this move on the man in front of us and puts him on the ground!! starts pulling out ammo and all kinds of merchandise from the mans trench coat... Of course it made a big scene and I being a kid thought it was the coolest thing ever!! once he had it under control he asked the crowd "does anyone have handcuff's" I swear like six pair hit the ground!!

so, the moral of the story is

There are a lot of PO PO's at Academy!!

LOL

aleaksthegreat-thanks for getting involved.
You know only about 10-12% of the population actually gets involved when they see something going wrong...
When I was growing up and especially 8-14 years old and my parents had a small grocery store in small town. Sometimes a group of gypsies would show up in 4-6 car caravan. My dad would call me and my sister and it was our job to walk around and spot the lifting. We caught a bunch.
AS they would come to check out my dad would ask..."and how do you want to pay for the peanut butter and candy in your coat?"
They would kinda smile and pull out the money???????
That experience came in handy for my sister...While working @ Neiman Marcus she saw a lady lift her skirt and put a 1200.00 dollar crystal punch bowl under her skirt.
She called security as the woman ran out of the store with the bowl between her legs!!!!!
She final threw the bowl under a car as she sped away. It didn't break and was all scuffed up but the store can collect the insurance on the damaged goods but not if it is missing.
Good job on the gerbil cage!!!!!!!

That's a classic flim-flam. One does the thieving (usually a minor) and the older creates a diversion. I thank the heavens everyday of my life that I grew up in the nastiest parts of town, so that I can spot this kind of stuff a mile away. You should have told David and Hong - you would've witness a new episode of Kung Fu theater if you had.

Las Vegas I say babe 90% of the people are here in this town to get your money one way or another. What does she do sets her purse beside her stool while she's playing slots. The nice little 73 year old woman beside her drops her change and bends over to pick it up while sliding the purse out into the traffic flow at which time her partner a young woman in her 20's scoops it up. These people work in teams and are good at what they do. Predators ( no jackals and scavengers) prey on the weak and disoriented in the jungle. That is what happened to country come to town. Unfortunately it may be too late to help this young boy he may be already lost to the life.

My wife openned a small store in Kemah (away from the boardwalk... in the lighthouse area) that sells jewelry & accessories. I have been amazed and truly saddened at the amount of theft. If ten people come in the store, two or more will generally try to steal something. It's really sad and so wide spread... thieves can be any age, sex, race... one person even used their handicapped friend as a decoy.

Dang!!!!I'm planning to steal that SPS display tank whole set-up(near the door/birds/reptiles-City Pets),but before I do that I'll make sure aleaksthegreat is not around the vicinity.LOL

Seriously....good catch Alex.Last week I had a conversation with the new owner of HAW and while we were talking I'm about to grab the box of K4, then he told me "that box is empty"......So I ask him "what do you mean it's empty"he said it's empty...there's nothing in there...it was stolen. Then we found out that not only one but two emtpy K4 boxes.I understand the frustations. One thing that I don't understand is how do people (thieves)enjoy stolen items? :? :? :? :? :?
