any advise on what to do with wet carpet besides replacing it?. my carbon reactor leaked and lost about 4 gallons of top off. so 4 gallons of salt water is on the carpet. i lifted up the carpet and put a portable heater to blow warm air on the wet part. is there any way to not get the water smell?? im thinking about renting the carpet steaming machine from krogers to clean it. will that help?

I had to pull mine up and run fans on it for 3 days. I lost a lot more than 4 gallons but mine was RO so no major smell issues.

Think of the stuff in your skimmer sitting in your carpet. Since it was salt water and the accompanying organics I would definitely steam clean.
