So I need to raise my water level to the tape mark in my wet/dry sump so my new skimmer will be happy. Unfortunately this will submerge the lower 2 inches of bioballs. So my options are leave it as it, raise the bioballs so they are not submerged, or remove the bioballs completely and go a different route in the chamber. This tank is 2 weeks into the cycle so I have time to change things. What would you do? Thank you!

I would simply remove the balls especially this early in your cycle.
