WH7 is fine for the bulbs as Kevin has stated but the bulbs will be under driven a bit. Many people have said they could tell a difference in the brightness of the bulbs when compared with an ice cap. I use the WH7 ballast to fire 2 super actinic 48" bulbs and it works fine for me though. Hope Mikester doesn't read this thread or we will have a WH7 war again :) j/k

The O'Workhorse debate...
I actually emailed Fulham asking this very question. They said that the bulbs would be underdriven. You can however run 4 T5's with a WH7 :D . If you are ok with the fact that you are not getting optimal, but good, performance from your VHO, then use a WH7.
Another option goes like this...
The WH7 has 4 red wires. It takes 3 of them to properly run a 110w VHO. With the 4th wire you can run a 54w T5, because you only need 1 wire per T5. So you could have the best of both worlds and not underdrive anything.

The Ice Caps also under driven, That is why they claim the bulbs last longer when driven by Ice Caps.

Actually IceCap states the bulbs last longer because their ballast starts the bulb more effeciently.

Not sure on VHO, but IceCaps do overdrive T5's.

The only way to properly drive 4' bulbs at VHO levels with a WH7 is to use 1 ballast per bulb, which is not very cost effective (4 x $35 = $140 - might as well buy an IceCap). You can hook them up in parallel as Brandon said, but that will underdrive the bulbs - even more so than the IceCap.

This whole WH7 debate is irrelevant anyway. Just get the new ARO ballast - it WILL drive 2x110w VHO's at the proper level, and it costs the same as a WH7.
