I have these translucent whitish curled looking things on my rock. To the touch they are hard and do not come off with firm pressure using my fingernails. What arr they, some sort of calciferous growth or something else i should be worried about?

Sorry images are a little blurry with my phone. They are centered on the images

With the way their tubes project outward they're probably vermetid snails.

Thanks that is exactly what I have. From what I can they are harmless. I guess I should not worry.

I wonder how I got them though. Dont have much in my tank

Eh??? Worms or snails I thought these are worms

They dont move, but they dont have a feathery thing coming out either. now that I look, I see very small spirals about 1 - 2 mm wide on my overflow also

The ones in the pics are about 5 mm wide and 5 mm high

They're called vermetid snails but they stay in their hard tubes. The most you'll maybe see of them is 2 antennae coming out, they'll also spread webs out to catch food in.

The things in your pics are snails. I thought they were something else, judging by your description, but they aren't what I thought.
