I vividly remember because I left the pump running in one of the saltwater vats overnight at the last reef currents and it got cloudy. Once Red Sea Salt is mixed well enough then don’t circulate it. It gets cloudy.I guess I’m going to use Red Sea then. Lol!
i remember the cloudy water but ive used redsea for years and it never gets cloudy in my storage tank. i have a pump come on daily at the same time my stenner is on to make sure its mixed up. i think the cloudy water was operator error or maybe whoever cleaned the vats didnt do a good job?I vividly remember because I left the pump running in one of the saltwater vats overnight at the last reef currents and it got cloudy. ADG has a excellent water source. He uses Red Sea.
I like to clean mine every couple of months or so. I like seeing that clean bottom. Some guys never clean theirs and they look horrible on the bottom, but the water is just as clear. Not sure which method works better. Probably about the same.i remember the cloudy water but ive used redsea for years and it never gets cloudy in my storage tank. i have a pump come on daily at the same time my stenner is on to make sure its mixed up. i think the cloudy water was operator error or maybe whoever cleaned the vats didnt do a good job?
That’s what he said. I don’t think I will buy my water from there for water changes though, because I have an RO/DI at home, but I will definitely pick up my salt from him.ADG has a excellent water source.
Ahh but do you have a 55 gallon barrel of it? The clamps on it are super cool.Seriously. I won a bucket of their stuff once from FJW and I absolutely love their buckets! I use Reef Crystals but if I don’t use a whole bag (I buy the boxes with four bags inside) it goes into my Salinity bucket. Screws on air tight. It’s worth buying a bucket of their salt just to get the dang bucket! Haha
At the end of the day thats simply my goal, stuff not dying. I ok with it not growing, just don’t die!Tropic Marin pro because my stuff doesn’t die.
Always win when you set your standards low lolAt the end of the day thats simply my goal, stuff not dying. I ok with it not growing, just don’t die!
This is what I would use if I wasn't already using Tropic Marin ProI use redsea pro... not really sure why.
The secret to success in life is to never try. If you never try then you’ll never fail. Also, set your standards very low. That way you’re sure to achieve them and always be a success!Always win when you set your standards low lol
I can't tell if you're serious or not Cody, but doesn't Petco sell Instant Ocean? I know, not quite a LFS, but at least...it's local, right?I wish local stores sold it. I’d rather buy from them than Amazon but I don’t know who offers it.
That’s a damn good reason thoTropic Marin pro because my stuff doesn’t die.
Ditto, but a few less than 31 yearsReef Crystals - it seems to work well, it's affordable, and I started with Instant Ocean 31 years ago and it's just easier to keep doing the same thing.
Ok, I need to wake up... Read this as an answer to "why" you use the salt and thought, well duh, I use it for salinity too!Salinity but I do water changes maybe 2-3x a year
Got an empty bucket I can have?Seriously. I won a bucket of their stuff once from FJW and I absolutely love their buckets!
