I prefer the 96 x 36, but it really depends on location, and inhabitants.

the new house were moving in has 3 floors...the way its made i dont think second floor will support a tank that size... i was thinking getting a big cube put it in a room on the first floor and make it into a full fish room with the cube smack in the center with a stand thats like a bar.

My tank is only 32.5” wide and it looks humongous. Come over check it out before you get a 36” wide tank.

I think 96X30X24 would look nice.

Though the 72x72 would be really cool in the middle of a room with a center overflow.

72 x 72 takes up a lot of real estate. Plus, what if you have to get to the middle for some reason? For me, it is not practicle. First, I don't have the house or extra room, second I don't have a ray or flounder that really requires it.

Oh yeah I forgot you are a fish guy. I don't care much for fish.

I work with tanks that are, on average, 30" in height or more and they are a pain in the "you know what" in terms of servicing with ease, i.e. not taking a swim. I'd bank on anything under 24" personally.

I vote for 96x36 but the 72x72 would kick A@@ too. What a choice to make. I wish that was even an option.

I think... you will be swimming in there in order to place and work on stuff if you get the 72x72... and while that sounds like fun... I dont know that you would think so at the time just to work on or change one thing.

Here's my opinion...and you know I'm going to be direct and honest. :)

So think about this before you invest into a new tank. If the house is 3 stories, I'm assuming the first floor is not very large (unless you bought a mansion :D ). Don't buy some huge tank that looks awkward in the room....PRESENTATION IS IMPORTANT. Get a smaller tank that looks good.

What I see everyday on RC that some dude bought a $5K tank and then I see shots of his crappy living room sofa...these people have no idea how to priortize. I hope this does not offend anyone on Marsh. I'm just stating facts.

Now we know who to turn to for financial counselling, you offer marriage counselling too?

Just tell it like it is, no sugar coating, no beating around the bush, no tact. Wham, Bam! That's it, no BS.
