As far as I can tell the drip output comes from directly below the container.

When you mix kalk you get settlement that you do not want in your tank. Especially if you use Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime like me. You get a whole lot of settlement in the bottom of the container that you do not want in your tank.

When I made my drip method, I drilled the who about 1" from the bottom and then angled the tubing insert upward. This way when everything settles, it settle below the tubing connect. I then can drip all the clear calcium into my sump.

I put a blob of silcon around the hole and then inserted the end part on the tubing.

The end has the plastic sharp piece for spiking Lactated Ringers bags as it is just a drip set.

That's great. I still do not see the fascination with that product. I have more than 14 different species of lps and sps corals in my tank including a number of soft corals (i.e. xenia, colt, clove, yellow & green polyps) so I am sure that my calcium demand should stay atleast around 460ppm in which it does with the tech cb a+b. I guess my point is this-I have been wanting to get a calcium reactor ( to keep up with the jones') but so far I really haven't seen the need for it. Everything I have seen so far to administer this product seems to take up too much space and time(and money) to worry about it. I guess I could see a situation to where you only had to mess with the calcium reactor only once every other week or so to keep everything in check which would be ideal but so far no one has presented me with that scenerio.

I'm bad and only check my calcium reactor about once a month to see what the pH is etc. When I check the reactor I usually check my calcium levels and my alkalinity. I don't have to dose anything daily, just top off with ro water. As mentioned, I do have to add turbo calcium from time to time to get calcium back up to where I want it. If you got a reactor it would eventually pay for itself by saving you from buying all those supplements. If some people on this board were strictly dosing calcium and alk additives they would have to add a ton a day just to keep up with their tank demands. In my tank I have 8 clams and quite a few sps. If I were to have to manually add calcium it would be a pain. Clams suck up a lot of calcium :)

Yea I've heard that clams do that . I have three myself. I also understand that to have all your rock covered with coraline you need to keep your calcium levels up (I have approx. 300lbs. of LR and all of it is totally covered with the purple stuff). But I only have to add the techcb a+b to my tank at most every other day or so and most the time I don't even do that. I just do't understand how my cal. leels can stay up where needed when that's all I do. You know, I do have a crushed coral sandbed, could that be contributing to my Ca levels?
