I bought a wetdry and the very bottom slits of the overflow are exactly 4 inches lower than the top of the tank. That isnt normal. This is a 40G tank and I have this thing raised as high as it will go. What is going on? Thanks

see that wing nut, loosen it, raise the overflow section, then re tighten the wing nut to secure it there.

Yeah, I have the wingnut as high as it will go. I start to panic, My wife looked at it who knows nothing about reef tanks and said we will just cut the acrylic and re-drill a new hole to make it the right level. She is so smart.

From the pic, it looks like the over flow is to low in the tank. How low are you looking to have your water level? You should have your water level as high as possible. There for you need to loosen the wing nut and raise the "in tank" overflow box. In the picture the wing nut is in the lowest position not the highest, based on the design of the hang-on overflow box. When the wing nut is at the bottom of the of the channel it is in the "highest position". Hope this helps. I assume you have a U tube for that?

Abran, look closer on that pic, the channel is on the over hang part not the overflow part, he has it as high as it will go.

Eric, do you have a drill?

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes I have a drill and will be fixing this thing as soon as possible. I will also have to cut the acrylic as when I raise it after drilling it will be too high and mess with the siphon tube. I think something is wrong with this particular overflow, but I will fix it. I do also have a siphon tube, just wasnt in the picture. Thanks
