For 3 years I carried 1 gal milk jugs back and forth from the grocery store. I used one of those machines that cost .29 / gal. I never had a problem. You can find them all over the city.

I recommend picking up a reusable 5 gallon container, available at most fish stores. It makes it easier to carry, and you don't have to get rid of all the 1 gallon jugs. Also, if you choose to reuse the 1 gallon jugs, they might leak if the lid pops off. This doesn't happen with the 5 gallon twist-on lids.
I get my water from Randalls for 1.50 for each 5 gallons.
The fish haven't complained yet!

Rascoe,

Your fish are able to complain? How long did it get them to talk ;)
