Hey guys and gals I was curious if anyone has used either of these reactors. I haven't used a reactor before and was wondering which was better. The goal is to reduce Phosphate all I have for filtration at the moment is the blue bonded filter pad, a skimmer and water changes. Time to upgrade I believe, losing corals and color's with noticeable algae(cyano, green hair, and some other encrusting green type.) It was recommended that I run GFO and/or Carbon after reading up I believe this would be a good idea. Any pointers, reviews or suggestions? Not sure where exactly this thread belongs by the way.

Thanks Zack

Happy with my two little fishes reactors, cheap but effective. I think the brs reactors are pretty crappy.

I used the BRS dual reactor on the old 150 and it worked okay but it had some flow issues. I am going to use the single jumbos on this 225 and see how they are.

Never liked TLF.
Had the dual BRS and it had flow issues. Had the single Jumbos and they needed too much power.
Now i have the NextReef MR1 reactors and they are pretty awesome. Good price, nice design and build quality, flow really well.

TLF is a good reactor never had any problems with it. Just loaded it with some ROWA from FWJ.

I used the BRS double reactor with a MJ1200-It worked ok for a year but got tired of it due to clogging so got rid of it on here. I also used a PM single reactor, much better quality but requires a larger pump. The TLF is a cheaper quality reactor but works better than the BRS in my opinion.

Gave up on the reactors, started using the small mesh bags.
