Looking to do some modifing to my sump to fit a larger skimmer. I was going to cut out one brace and move it over to make the chamber larger.
What kind of silicone do I need to put the brace in?

Thanks

Home Depot or Lowes has the Silicon I which is best.

DO NOT use the Silicon II as it contains mold inhibitors which are bad for aquarium use.

Thanks, so I am looking for Silicon I then. How long is usually the drying time before I add water back to the sump?

I'll give you a free tube of silicone (new) if you like. PM me for address & setting up a time.

According to the instructions i found in the past on the internet - beads of 1/8" or less should be given 24hrs.

You can have this un-opened tube.

It was nice to meet y'all.

On a side note:

I've sealed many aquariums with the silicone pictures above. A good friend of mine who purchased my 180 gal & has turned it into a large tang/bamboo shark tank has had complete success & happy fish.

I never told him that I used about 3-4 tubes on that tank alone when I was installing it's overflow boxes. I let that stuff cure for about 1 week.

On another side note: if there's anyone out there who needs silicone & doesn't mind driving TO me to pick it up - I can get you new tubes if it. Just hit me up. I don't ask for any $$. Now if you wanna bring a frag of something, it would make me smile - but it's free.
