Looks pretty sick.

Yeah it's pretty nice. It's the latest and greatest from DJI. The Mavic 3 is probably coming out this year, but no official announcements yet. It'll be a fair amount more than the Air 2.

The one thing about the Mavic Mini is it's sub 250g. In the US that just buys you the ability not to register it. In a lot of countries, sub 250g counts as a toy and are not regulated. So as a foreigner you can "most likely" fly it. Where as at 250g you would have to have permission from the government... if you want to follow the rules. GL with getting permission too.

So you just register here in the US and you’re good to go? Any classes or licenses that are needed here?
Sorta.

Register with the FAA (I think it's a $5 fee, or it was). (Sub 250g no need)
Can't fly for commercial without FAA Part 107 license.
Have to fly in legal areas / situations (like can't fly over crowds, can't fly in national parks, can't fly near airports).

Even if it's under 250g you can't fly commercially / in un-approved areas.

This little gadget helped so many in Harvey. People couldn’t go to their neighborhoods/homes so I would fly over their homes and get close up. They were so thankful. So it’s not just a toy. [emoji846]

In Houston you need a lifted truck and a drone [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I flew mine over my house on Wednesday just to get a good recording of the condition of the house before the potential hurricane.

They are really amazing tools. I have a long range plane that I've flown 20+ miles away averaged about 45mph (land speed) and could fly for 2 hours on a charge. I had a pan/tilt camera. Was really awesome and relaxing. I always felt they'd be perfect for search and rescue.

Well, unfortunately I live so close to the airport I can't even take off. My drone just sits there spinning. Won't even allow a small lift off. The new flysafe update mess me up...lol

The Air 2 is by far best in the market for the money. Has the new O-sync instead of WiFi so you got the best range DJI have to offer.
