Ok some misc pics... the 'shop' and, test cube in progress and edges

btw, click on the photos... the two 'full tanks shots' are a quirk of the site, clicking the photo will bring up the actual pics.

Progress looks good. I like your router table setup. What brand router bits are you using? I tried my hand at acrylic this past weekend and made a media rack. The weld-on 4 flows like water. Do you have some advice on your method of applying the adhesive. I will be following your progress. Keep the pics coming.

Bosch for plunge, and some cheapos from Harbor freight.. 3 bits for 8$

All the shots are with the cheapos... use the bosch for trimming if need after assembly... needed in this case since I coulnd't get all the bend out of the pieces.

As for the weldon... just use a lot of scrap and practice. I'm still working on it, got some good seams on this, but was some hazed spots on the edge from a bit too much. Weight of the panes and bend made working with pins a bit rough.

Sumps, wether building your own... or having someone build one. There are some things that need to be determined beyond over all dimensions.

Chambers, as in how many? Intake/Skimmer... return, refugium...and the dimensions needed for each.

Tanks, obviously..dimensions... overflow, internal, external... location? Center, 1 corner or two etc...

I've actually been following this thread, and in the early posts he states he is "considering" the idea of filling the sump building niche. Not that he definately is :p. So again, IF you get into building them for others, I may be interested

Your work thus far looks great, and I grow tired of my current sump. Once ya get comfortable with making sumps I would most likely be interested, we are looking into buying a new house, so will need a sump / fuge built. Its going to be for a 300-500 gallon tank, so it will be a monster :), so definately be sure your comfortable lol.

Just an FYI, most the suppliers (acrylic) local, do not stock larger than 4'x8' for thickness over 3/8".
I located one that did stock a 6'x8' sheet...current price had it at 285 vs 198 for a 4'x8' sheet.
